Sale Brass Band is a traditional British brass band based in the town of Sale, about 6 miles south-west of Manchester. Originally formed over 150 years ago as Stretford Temperance band, it has always played an important role in the surrounding communities whether it was at the opening of the railway between Manchester and Altrincham in 1849, or playing at an athletes reception for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
We are available for a range of concert functions and marches. The band plays a range of music from classical, traditional brass band, through to the music of the shows and modern music, all to suit the the nature of the event.
The band is currently ranked in the 4th Section of the brass band movement, but a recent return to the contest stage will hopefully see the band (under the ever watchful guidance of our Musical Director) rise through the rankings once more.
As with most brass bands, Sale Brass Band's members are dedicated amateur musicians who, whilst holding down regular day jobs (and having family commitments), find the time to come together to play music for their own enjoyment, and for the entertainment and delight of its audiences.
Should you be interested in joining Sale Brass Band (either as a player or as a helper) or the Training Band then please feel free to contact us as we would be delighted to hear from you.
