I have the distinction of being one of the oldest members of the band as well as one of the least experienced.

I joined the band in November 2001 after deciding to have a go at playing an instrument upon retirement and "discovering" brass banding at a summer school of music.

I am grateful to the band for accepting an ageing beginner and for the playing experience and camaraderie which I have enjoyed.

When not banding I can frequently be found attempting to improve my golf handicap which is still proving difficult after 40 years practice.
