I joined Sale Brass in 2009, after a move from London to Stockport. It’s been great settling into a front row cornet seat after an 18 month break. Surprisingly, the band were keen for me to play even though I still split high notes and struggle to get my fingers round the fast bits. Thanks for the patience - I’ve been told its nothing that practice won’t fix!
Whilst in London I played with East London Brass and previous to that I conducted Knaresborough Silver Band. The highlights of my musical efforts came from within other areas of my musical life – singing with the London Concert Choir in Cadogan Hall and the Barbican accompanied by the RPO; and, giving a piano recital in Ripon Cathedral. Perhaps only something that can be topped by a Sale Brass appearance in Harrogate?
