Established in 1897, Thos.Reynolds & Sons, musical instrument maker and repairer of Blackfriars Road, Salford: I was born into a musical family (in Sale Nursing Home). I played a trumpet in the Coronation year (suitably attired) and played for Sale & Ashton Youth Band when it was conducted by Dennis Smith, Fodens and CWS Manchester solo euphonium player. 

I joined Sale Brass in 2001 having seen an advert in British Bandsman. For some years I had been playing in a brass quintet but wanted to extend my playing, and found Sale welcoming, encouraging and, well, patient. Lesley and I also do a lot of messing about and racing with vintage Morgan three-wheelers.
