I started playing trumpet at the age of 16 and have played in a number of dance and swing bands.

"My claim to fame" is having appeared on TV with the Tommy Smith Band on a programme called All Your Own.

I now play trumpet with Kaleidoscope, a Glenn Miller style swing band with Mike Welch, who invited me down to Sale Brass for my first blow on cornet. I joined the band on 2nd cornet in Spring 2008
